Hello, I’m Valerie

I am thrilled you are here looking for ways to improve your life. No matter what obstacles are creating your current difficulty, I am here to help you find your way. You are not alone, and believe me when I tell you; the answers you need are within your reach. I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed and alone. As the child of an alcoholic, I had a desperate need to improve myself while helping everyone around me. It took me years to understand that this approach to life isn't the same as actually living. My intentions were good, but I learned eventually that external pursuits would not provide what I needed to be productive and at peace.

To the casual observer, it looked like I had it all together. From a young age, my greatest desire was to help people and make the world a better place. I had friends, got good grades in college and went on to earn a master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago.

Obviously, the path I had chosen was not an easy one. Sometimes it felt like I was building my life on quicksand. When things didn't work out the way I planned, I became exhausted and burned out, always trying harder. I was at the end of my rope and developed habits to cope with the stress that undermined my health and well-being.

The good news is that my determination to succeed led me on a God-inspired journey to seek answers about how to live a good life. I learned so much from countless wise teachers of psychology, religion, and self-help. Although my faith never wavered, I questioned my experiences in organized religion and discovered a strong inner compass. A therapist helped me develop a new outlook on my situation, but her methods didn't provide the freedom I was seeking. This was when I discovered The Adult Chair®, a life-changing model developed by my mentor Michelle Chalfant. Through this approach, I found a renewed sense of strength and freedom.

You are in the right place at the right time. I hope you will allow me the privilege of working with you. Together we can find ways to renew your life by turning your challenges into amazing opportunities for growth.

Much Love,

Valerie
